These films will compete in the International Competition at the Golden Orange

The films competing in the International Feature Film Competition of the 62nd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival have been announced. A total of 10 films from around the world will be selected for the Golden Orange awards at the festival, which will take place from October 24 to November 2, 2025. Awards will be presented for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Actor.
WILL MEET THE AUDIENCE FOR THE FIRST TIMEThe selection, comprised of films from the US, Germany, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, the UK, the Czech Republic, France, Iran, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Colombia, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovakia, and Turkey, will be presented to audiences for the first time in Türkiye as part of the Golden Orange competition. This year, the festival's international competition features films that stand out with their strong themes and internationally recognized titles.
Competing in competition are Joel Alfonso Vargas with his film “Mad Bills to Pay,” which explores complex themes such as class struggle, family relationships, and the transition to adulthood; Harris Dickinson with his film “Urchin,” which won the FIPRESCI Prize at the 78th Cannes Film Festival and tells the story of Mike, a homeless man trying to survive on the streets of London; and Laura Wandel with her film “Adam’s Sake,” which had its world premiere in the La Semaine de la Critique selection at the Cannes Film Festival and questions the relationship between social institutions and the individual.
Awards will be presented on November 1stFilms in international competition also include Simón Mesa Soto's "A Poet," which tells the story of a poet rising from the quiet streets of Medellín; Mary Bronstein's "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You," a psychological black comedy that had its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival; and "Confidante," a Turkey-France-Luxembourg co-production directed by Çağla Zencirci and Guillaume Giovanetti, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival. Saadet Işıl Aksoy, who was awarded the Honorary Medal at the Golden Orange Awards last year, plays the lead role in Confidante.
Other productions in the festival’s international competition include Johanna Moder’s “Mother’s Baby,” about the inner journey of a 40-year-old orchestra conductor; Milagros Mumenthaler’s “The Currents,” centered on the life of the acclaimed Argentinian artist Lina; Ali Asgari’s “Divine Comedy,” which had its world premiere in the Orizzonti section of the Venice Film Festival and explores themes of censorship and freedom of expression; and Slovakia’s Oscar-nominated family drama “Otec (Father),” directed by Tereza Nvotová.
As part of the international competition, the awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
