The investigation into Esila Ayık, a university student with a heart condition who was detained and arrested during the protests following the operation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, and Arda Öğüşlü and Mehmet Efe Erdoğan, who were arrested during the same protest, has been completed.

Three students appeared before the judge today.

Ayık, Öğüşlü and Erdoğan, who have chronic heart and kidney diseases, were released at the first hearing. Ayık, who was facing a prison sentence of up to 4 years and 8 months, had been detained for over a month.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Esila Ayık, a university student studying in Belgium, was detained in Kadıköy, Istanbul, during protests against the arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu, and was arrested on April 9.
