iPhone 20 surprise: Apple may skip the iPhone 19 and celebrate the 20th anniversary with a major innovation!

Apple is expected to celebrate the 20th anniversary with a major redesign, similar to the iPhone 's 10th anniversary overhaul. Now, a new report from Apple Insider suggests the 2027 model will be unveiled earlier than expected.
According to ET News, Omdia chief researcher Heo Moo-yeol said at a conference in Seoul that the iPhone 20 will be released in the first half of 2027. If true, that date would coincide with the 20th anniversary of the original iPhone's release.
APPLE WILL BYPASS IPHONE 19The researcher also stated that Apple will skip the iPhone 19 name and go straight to the iPhone 20. This is similar to the company's transition from the iPhone 8 directly to the iPhone X in 2017.
Beyond that, Heo Moo-yeol reiterated some previous claims, saying Apple would split its iPhone launches in two. Specifically, he suggested that the iPhone 18e and iPhone 20 would be unveiled in the first half of 2027, while the iPhone Air, iPhone 20 Pro, iPhone 20 Pro Max, and second-generation iPhone Fold would follow in the second half of the year.
It's unclear from the statements when the iPhone 18 is expected to be released. However, previous reports have suggested that, starting in 2026, Apple will release the Pro models in September and the other models in the spring of the following year.
The same reports also claim that the iPhone 20 could feature an all-glass chassis as part of a radical design change and could be the first curved iPhone since 2020. These rumors are also supported by numerous patents Apple has recently received.
