Saplings were planted in Sancaktepe

Sancaktepe Mayor Alper Yeğin, political party representatives, students, teachers, neighborhood representatives (mukhtars), volunteers, and citizens attended the program held at the Paşaköy Nursery Area. Yeğin, along with the students, emphasized the importance of contributing to nature by planting saplings.
The event also included a visit to the "Artists' Forest," where saplings were planted by artists participating in festivals organized by the Sancaktepe Municipality. Participants showed great interest in the memorial forest, examining the saplings planted by the artists.
Speaking at the event, Sancaktepe Mayor Alper Yeğin emphasized that planting trees means breathing life into the future, saying:
We are working together to plant trees and saplings in every corner of our country. Because while our country may seem like a green land, we actually have few trees and forests. In recent years, we've faced the worst forest fires in history. Millions of our trees and thousands of our creatures have been destroyed. That's why we need to plant more trees. Sancaktepe is very fortunate in this respect, a district surrounded by forests. We have a paradise like Paşaköy. We have public lands designated as forests here. Even the pine trees you see were planted 10-15 years ago, and today they've grown into large trees. Time flies. We'll come back in 10 years and sit in the shade of these saplings we planted. The weather is also very fertile, and it's raining. I thank all the children, our neighborhood headmen (mukhtars), political party representatives, and NGO leaders who came to celebrate this meaningful occasion.
At the end of the event, Yeğin took a souvenir photo with the children next to the saplings they planted, and saplings were presented to the participants as a memento of the day.
