İdil Biret's archive will be introduced to the world

The archive, which has been classified by musicologist Dr. Sungu Okan at the İdil Biret Foundation's Şişli Center for two years, documents İdil Biret's extraordinary artistic journey from the 1940s to the present.

This rich content, consisting of scores, concert programs, letters, photographs, and thousands of personal documents, reveals not only the life of an artist but also the role of music and art in Türkiye's modernization process.

Sungu Okan will present the archive at the ICA Conference. This year, the ICA will focus on topics such as the impact of digitization on archives, the preservation of cultural memory, and the interaction of archives with society. The ICA is one of the world's most prestigious organizations in its field, bringing together archivists, academics, and cultural institutions from nearly 200 countries.
