The government has taken action to privatize publicly owned properties in Ankara and Istanbul. Some properties in the historic district of Beyoğlu , including the Tax Inspection Board buildings, stand out on the list.

PUBLISHED IN THE OFFICIAL GAZETTE

The Presidential Decree regarding the inclusion of 37 properties in Ankara and Istanbul, whose ownership is registered in the name of the Treasury, in the privatization scope and program was published in the Official Gazette.

According to the decision, real estate in Ankara's Altındağ and Çankaya districts, as well as Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, along with the buildings on them, were included in the privatization scope and program.

These real estates will be privatized by applying one or more of the following methods: sale , rental, revenue sharing model and other legal dispositions appropriate to the requirements of the business, establishment of non-real rights of ownership or granting of operating rights.

The privatization process of the real estates in the two provinces, whose ownership is registered in the name of the Treasury, will be completed by December 31, 2028.

Among the real estate properties put up for sale in Beyoğlu is the Tax Inspection Board building located at the intersection of Maliye and Necatibey streets in the Müeyyetzade neighborhood.

The historical district where the buildings are located stands out with high investments made in areas such as tourism, culture and arts.

On the other hand, one of the buildings put up for sale was designated as an "immovable cultural asset requiring protection" by the Istanbul 2nd Cultural Heritage Preservation Regional Board on January 31.

The decision emphasized that the building was "built between 1945 and 1950 and bears the characteristics of the Second National Architecture."
