Minister Bayraktar: We are fighting for independence in energy, just like July 15th.

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar attended the July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day commemoration program held at the ministry. Speaking at the program, Minister Bayraktar stated that the country overcame a significant obstacle on the night of July 15th on its path to independence, saying, "Our President demonstrated great resilience, and our nation overcame this by uniting around him."

'Türkiye WILL BE ECONOMICALLY INDEPENDENT WHEN IT BECOMES ENERGY INDEPENDENT'

Bayraktar stated that they are waging a struggle for independence in energy, just like the national struggle they waged on the night of July 15th. He said, "When Turkey becomes independent in energy, it will also become independent economically. As much as it becomes independent economically, its economy will be strong. In this way, we will become a greater and stronger country."

Minister Bayraktar stated that they are working day and night to become a fully independent country in the energy sector, saying, "Turkey has become capable of producing its own oil and natural gas in the Sakarya Gas Field, deep in the Black Sea, in Gabar, a region once associated with terrorism. We now have a country operating all over the world. From Libya to Somalia, Niger, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Iraq, we are resolutely taking steps to make our country independent."

Bayraktar stated that a historic step had been taken today regarding the issue of terrorism, adding, "Hopefully, this will continue, and Turkey will progress towards becoming a much greater and stronger country once it is rid of this scourge of terrorism."

Bayraktar, who offered his condolences to all martyrs, also commemorated the energy sector martyrs. Bayraktar stated that the names of martyred bomb disposal expert Esma Çevik, martyred teacher Aybüke Yalçın, and Ministry staff Bülent Sadioğlu and Mehmet İrfan Güler are commemorated in the Gabar oil fields. Minister Bayraktar then toured an exhibition of photographs depicting July 15th.
