Guirassy brace: BVB books quarter-final against Real Madrid

90' After a strong first half, Monterrey, who came out of the locker room with a lot of pace, demanded everything from Dortmund in the second half. But BVB's defensive wall held on to their narrow 2-1 lead.
90' Dortmund holds on to its narrow lead and can now look forward to a quarter-final against Real Madrid, which will take place on Saturday (10 p.m. CEST) in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
90' +3 There are still about 120 seconds left to play.
90' +1 Almost an equalizer! After a cross from the right, Sergio Ramos rises high in the penalty area and heads the ball with spin just centimeters wide of the left post and out of the goal. Kobel would have been completely powerless.
90' +1 Five minutes of injury time are shown.
90' Guirassy is hit on the foot on the left side of the penalty area and falls to the ground. But play continues until the referee interrupts play. The double goalscorer is visibly upset. The game restarts with a dropped ball.
87' Time is running out for BVB, who, however, continue to show only patchy attacking moves after halftime. At the moment, however, the ball is circulating in the opposing half among Borussia's ranks.
83' BVB's defensive wall is still holding, but Monterrey is still attacking at the moment - even though the Mexicans seem to be getting a little tired.
79' Another shot for Monterrey: Oliver volleys from the left half from around 15 meters, which - slightly deflected - lands in Kobel's arms.
75' Dortmund now once again dangerously penetrates the penalty area. But in the end, Guirassy stumbles against several defenders and is unable to finish.
72' Sergio Ramos brings Guirassy down in midfield, injuring both of them in the knee area.
68' Monterrey continues to show a high running intensity, which is causing BVB more and more trouble.
66' After a through ball from Sergio Ramos, Corona lays the ball into the path of Berterame in the Dortmund half, who then finds himself free in front of Kobel and slides it low into the goal. But the flag goes up because the would-be double-winner was just a bit too far forward when the pass was made.
64' With lightning-fast attacks, Corona repeatedly creates danger, now against Bensabaini: The attacker's shot from a somewhat tight angle then rushes past the goal.
63' Dortmund can now shift the action more often into the Mexicans’ half.
59' It wasn't far off. Corona was sent through centrally, ran toward the goal, and then shot with his right from around twelve meters. Kobel was once again on the spot and made the save.
54' Aguirre tries from distance with his right, but the ball rolls well to the left of the goal.
53' Monterrey senses a chance. Corona is played in on the half-right behind the defense and then cuts inside, even though he could have tried to score himself. Süle clears the ball in the center before Berterame.
Monterrey quickly equalized: Süle lets in a cross on the left, which Svensson tries to head away at the far post. But Aguirre, who leaps up, is able to head the ball inside himself, where Berterame, behind Anton and Bensebaini, is free to head the ball – and his shot lands accurately in the right corner of the goal.
46' There are no changes yet.
45' Thanks to a concentrated performance, Borussia Dortmund are leading 2-0, thanks to a brace from Guirassy and two assists from Adeyemi, although Monterrey seriously tested BVB keeper Kobel a few times.
45' +1 Two minutes of injury time are shown.
44' A loss of the ball by Adeyemi initiates a counterattack, at the end of which Bensebaini is able to block a cross into the goal area.
41' Now, however, a dangerous situation arises in the BVB penalty area. Corona, starting from a slightly offside position, beats Ryerson on the left and then shoots from a few meters but at a tight angle inside the box. Kobel is in the right position and saves.
38' Dortmund currently has the game under control, even though Monterrey continues to try to apply attacking pressure with pace. However, the Mexicans have so far failed to produce anything more than a few good long-range shots.
34' And again: This time, after some preparatory work on the right, Guirassy takes the shot centrally from the six-yard box, but Andrada is there and just manages to block with his outstretched right leg.
31' After another quick attack, Guirassy narrowly misses his hat trick. Bellingham cuts inside from the left in the penalty area, but the Frenchman doesn't quite connect perfectly while falling from seven meters, and the ball spins wide to the right.
29' Another hard and quite dangerous long-range shot from the Mexicans, again from Deossa. But Kobel again skillfully deflects it to the side.
The Englishman arrives a little too late in a challenge against Deossa on the right flank – and receives his second yellow card of the tournament. This means Bellingham will be suspended for the quarterfinals against Real Madrid and will miss the clash with his brother Jude's team.
Ryerson wins the ball from Arteaga on the right side of defense and immediately sends it through to Adeyemi on the right. He breaks through, cuts inside on the edge of the box, and then carefully lays it off to Guirassy in the middle. Guirassy, with his first touch, carefully curls the ball into the right corner from around 14 meters. A well-worked goal.
21' On the other side, a potential great opportunity for Bellingham after Ryerson's cross was just thwarted by a toe from the defense.
20' Monterrey is now coming forward with more force. Corona is sent through centrally and takes a direct shot from the edge of the penalty area. Kobel rushes out of the goal and makes a skillful save. The flag is raised. Offside? That would have been a tricky decision.
17' Hits the woodwork! A slipped cross from the left by Corona lands on the left post of the BVB goal. Kobel would have been there, though. A few seconds later, Deossa takes another shot, this time from the left-hand side. Again, Kobel safely saves the powerful shot.
15' Dortmund again. Adeyemi has space on the right side of the penalty area, but Andrada comes out of goal a little too late. Adeyemi cuts inside, but doesn't find a teammate. Monterrey is able to clear.
BVB took the lead with their first chance. The ball came to Guirassy on the left in front of the penalty area. After a quick one-two with Adeyemi, he found himself unmarked in front of goalkeeper Andrada on the left half and coolly slotted the ball into the net just wide of the left post.
11' The first clear shot comes from the Mexicans: Deossa fires a powerful shot with his left foot from around 22 meters in a half-right position. Kobel saves the poorly placed shot with only slight difficulty.
7' Monterrey appears in the BVB penalty area for the first time. Berterame wins a corner from the left half.
6' Dortmund tried to control the game in the early stages. Both teams were equally good in the duels.
4' Adeyemi is played in on the half-right of the penalty area. The ball bounces a little when he receives it, but in the end a defender clears it out of the goal.
