Philly McMahon Thinks Meath's Dublin Celebrations Cost Them Against Louth

Philly McMahon just loves a bit of needle with county Meath.
First, Philly joked that, due to the amount of Dubs living in Meath, it was basically Dublin's second team that had knocked Dessie Farrell's side out of Leinster.
Speaking on Monday's edition of The Indo Sport Podcast, Philly McMahon wondered if Meath over-celebrated their semi-final victory over the Dubs and if they lost sight of the final against Louth.
I think it's worth mentioning.
Probably a lot of Meath people are getting stick today...did they celebrate too much when they bet Dublin?
I've never been put on anybody's shoulders after winning an All-Ireland final albeit you're in Croke Park and you don't really get fans on the pitch but Meath's celebrations against Dublin were incredible.
You could say there was a merit to that and they deserved it but I can tell you for me that would be energy. If I was Ger Brennan I'd be putting that up on the wall.
Does this look like these lads are just in a Leinster final or they've actually won it?

Philly McMahon makes Mayo comparison in criticism of MeathPhilly McMahon believes that the Dublin teams he was part of wouldn't have celebrated such a win in the same way and would have remained focused on the job at hand.
He recalls the aftermath of the drawn All-Ireland final in 2016, where Mayo equalised with the final kick of the game to bring it to a replay. McMahon believes the contrast in the reaction at full-time and the ensuing evening was a difference come the replay, which Dublin won.
I remember playing Mayo one year, I can't remember if it was '16 or '17 but I remember drawing and we were so pissed off and we were all walking off the pitch. You could see the Mayo players walking around and getting interviews, we go straight into the changing room. Both teams in an All-Ireland final have a banquet, we go back to the hotel, we have a meal on our own. All the families everybody else, the county board is there, John Costello says a couple of things. We walk straight in get our food and go straight home. And then there's video clips going around of Mayo actually having a banquet... Now there might be absolutely nothing in that.
In a competitive game of sport, it's all about a game of chess. What can give you extra edges, that extra energy. Maybe Louth benefitted from that but maybe Meath it actually impacted them to an extent.
For Meath maybe they can draw some motivation from Philly McMahon's as they look forward to a clash with Cork in Navan in the first round of the All-Ireland group stages.
