As temperatures drop across the country due to the cool air wave coming from Russia, the General Directorate of Meteorology has released its weather forecast for the week. With misty mornings, occasional heavy showers and winds reaching gales, Turkey is experiencing the turbulent face of spring. Here are the details region by region...

According to the Meteorology Office's forecasts, the country is expected to have partly cloudy weather. Showers and thunderstorms are expected in the south and east of Central Anatolia, the Toros Mountains of the Mediterranean, the Eastern Mediterranean, Central and Eastern Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia, the north and east of Southeastern Anatolia and the surrounding areas of Edirne and Kırklareli.

Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the Eastern Black Sea region, the north of Eastern Anatolia, and around Kayseri, Sivas, Bingöl and Muş.

Haze and Fog Will Be Effective
In the morning and at night, haze and fog will be seen in the east of Marmara, the inner Aegean, the northwestern part of Central Anatolia and the western Black Sea region. It is necessary to be careful as there may be a decrease in visibility and disruptions in transportation.

Showers and Storms Prevail in the New Week
With the new week, torrential downpours and occasional thunderstorms will be effective throughout Turkey. The intensity of rainfall will increase especially in the north, east and inland areas. Thunderstorms are expected in Adana, Mersin, Ordu, Tokat, Osmaniye, Giresun, Kahramanmaraş, Sivas, Kayseri and Yozgat as of the beginning of the week.
The wind, which is expected to blow in the form of a storm in Marmara and Thrace in the middle of the week, will bring risks such as flying roofs and falling trees.
