🌿 TurkeyOutdoor aims to raise environmental awareness through nature sports. While doing sports in nature, it adopts the principles of protecting the environment, respecting biodiversity and sustainability.

Kırklareli is one of the most preferred nature destinations in Thrace with its lush forests, cool plateaus and nature walking routes. However, due to rising temperatures and fire risks, these beauties may be temporarily closed to visitors during the summer months. For 2025, the Kırklareli Governorship has banned entry to the forests for 177 days between May 8 and October 31.

According to the statement made by the Kırklareli Governorship, forest fires experienced throughout Turkey in recent years pose a great risk. Especially in the summer months, meteorological conditions such as high temperatures , excessive winds and low humidity increase the possibility of fire. For this reason, in order to prevent forest fires, entry to forest areas throughout the province has been temporarily banned.

The governor's office statement included the following statements:

“In order to prevent possible forest fires and especially to take into consideration the risk of burning stubble, entry into forests within the borders of Kırklareli province has been prohibited for 177 days between 08.05.2025 and 31.10.2025.”

This ban does not only concern picnickers, but also those interested in nature sports. During the ban;

  • 🚫 It is prohibited to enter forest areas.
  • 🚫 Picnics , barbecues and camping in the forest are prohibited.
  • 🚫 It is strictly prohibited to burn stubble in agricultural areas.
  • 🚫 Travelling by vehicle on forest roads may also be subject to restrictions.

If you are planning to do activities such as hiking , camping , photography or mountain biking , you need to choose areas outside the forest borders . You can get support from local authorities or nature sports clubs for alternative routes.

Yes! Such forest ban decisions are implemented under the Forest Law and those who do not comply may be subject to administrative fines and even legal action in some cases. Therefore, complying with the ban protects not only nature but also you.

🌿 As Turkey's Nature Activities & Adventure Sports Page, Turkey's gateway to nature, we invite all our citizens to obey the rules and protect the forests.

The forests of Kırklareli are home not only to humans but also to hundreds of species. Protecting these areas is of vital importance in order to be able to experience these beauties in the future. Therefore, we all need to comply with these measures.

Safety Precautions in Nature Sports and Outdoor Activities

  • In all outdoor activities and nature sports, safety is your primary responsibility. No article or video can replace proper practical training and personal experience.
  • Especially in outdoor extreme sports, you are primarily responsible for your own personal safety. Always prioritize your personal safety and the harmony and safety of the team you are with.
  • In all cases, be on the side of nature , keep the environment clean, and never harm wild animals or the nature where wildlife lives.
  • While exploring natural and historical beauties, you should pay attention to some important points for your holiday to be enjoyable and safe. Before your trip, do detailed research about the region you will go to , check the weather conditions and take appropriate clothes with you. Never damage natural, historical and touristic places. Do not leave your garbage in the places you go, take your garbage back to where you came from in bags as you brought it or throw it in a garbage container.
  • If you are planning a nature trip, camping or outdoor activity, be sure to pack all the necessary equipment .
  • In Turkey, there are frequent bans on entering forests and some protected areas, and administrative fines are imposed on those who do not comply. You should verify current forest entry bans from the provincial Regional Forestry Directorates.
  • Technically, all outdoor activities in nature require prior permission. Our advice to our readers, campers, nature walkers and those who participate in all outdoor sports is to at least call the law enforcement authorities before starting the activity and inform them about the nature activity and routes they will be doing.
  • Your opinions, thoughts, suggestions and requests regarding outdoor and nature are valuable to us. Feel free to write to us.
