Özgür Özel's 'process' statement: Erdoğan is trying to squander a historic opportunity, I won't let him

The Republican People's Party (CHP) continues its "Standing Up for the National Will" rallies. Today, the rallies were held in Adıyaman, where Abdurrahman Tutdere was removed from his post as mayor.
Many citizens visited Tutdere, who was sentenced to house arrest, at her home in the morning hours.
Welcoming citizens with electronic bracelets, Tutdere said, "Adiyaman has now become a place of mourning. The mourning atmosphere of February 6th has once again fallen upon this city."
'HANCAGE' PROTEST IN FRONT OF TUTDERE'S HOUSECHP Şanlıurfa Deputy Mahmut Tanal protested the house arrest and removal of Abdurrahman Tutdere from office in Adıyaman. Tanal and the citizens joined forces to protest the situation. Tanal then protested by repeating the phrase that has become synonymous with him, saying nine times, "What is Tutdere doing at home?"
The CHP Youth Branch of the Adıyaman Provincial Headquarters marched in front of the CHP Adıyaman Provincial Headquarters, where the rally would be held, in the late afternoon. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel addressed the packed crowd of citizens.
"WE ARE THEIR GUARANTEE UNTIL THE END..."
The special said:
Tutdere received one of the two votes. Abdurrahman Tutdere will break a record and win Adıyaman again.
We are in the midst of the March 19th coup process. When the party came in first on March 31st, winning 65 percent of Türkiye's votes, they launched a coup to prevent this. They detained Ekrem İmamoğlu, whom you love so much, arrested him, and imprisoned him in Silivri. Today, I'm coming home from Abdurrahman's house. His family looks me in the eye and tells me, "They're slandering us, they're jealous, that's why they're doing this." We fully support both President Ekrem and President Abdurrahman. We fully vouch for them.
There was a funeral today. At that funeral were the President's son, the Ambassador, and then-Baccarat Minister Egemen Bağış. They didn't look at each other at the funeral. The CHP is the party of those who love each other and look each other in the eye. You are the party of those who can't look each other in the eye, who dig their own graves.
There was a Director of Communications who angered Erdoğan. TRT, AA, all the television channels, newspapers, are under state control. They're calling March 19 a "coup," a "political trial," and he scolded them for failing to defeat a single bus and a microphone.
"THEY CONSPIRATED PRESIDENT ABDURRAHMAN"
They set up a conspiracy against Mayor Abdurrahman. There's one slanderer. They call him a criminal organization leader. He supposedly confesses. They release him, but they imprison those he slandered. This man said, "I was a creditor to the Adıyaman Municipality. I had saved up money, so I went and saw Abdurrahman Tutdere. He sent me to so-and-so, and they took a bribe from me in exchange for paying me back. This is a lie. There's no evidence or proof that this person ever came to Adıyaman, entered the municipality, or spoke to me on the phone. They can never prove it. When they look back at the payments, there are no payments; he received his payments regularly every month. The deal is over. The agreement wasn't made by Abdurrahman, but by the AKP mayor before him. There has never been any accumulation in his payments."
"ERDOĞAN SHOWED THAT HE WAS IN HISTORICAL MISTAKE"
"Right now, there's a historic process, a historic opportunity in Türkiye. The terrorist organization is laying down its weapons, and the CHP, with its historical consistency, is saying, 'This will benefit this party or that party?' Instead, it's saying, 'This will benefit the nation, it will wipe away the tears of both Kurds and Turks. Those who left won't come back, but new hearts won't ache.' It wants to make the most positive contribution in Parliament to this process, which can be achieved without hurting the families of martyrs and veterans. Yesterday, Mr. Erdoğan made a supposedly 'historic' speech. He demonstrated his historic negligence. Until recently, DEM, DEM members, DEM voters, and those who greeted DEM were terrorists. Now, he's saying, 'We, the MHP and DEM, have reached an agreement and will walk together.' I want to say this from here: With all due respect to the DEM Party's institutional identity... The CHP does not need the DEM Party to establish relations with the Kurds and to desire the best for them." The DEM Party does not need the CHP to establish relations with the Turks, but both the Turks and the Kurds need each other to be together and build the future.
We are stating clearly here: if terrorism ends, if peace prevails, if brotherhood prevails, we can catch the train we've been missing. We can become part of Europe and a full member of the EU in the second quarter of the 21st century. The CHP wholeheartedly desires peace and brotherhood, without discrimination or alienation, for the sake of development, the country's progress, sound foreign policy, and to prevent further wars. We want to develop this country shoulder to shoulder. Those who constantly say "us and them"—those who say, "Yes, you're hungry, poor, and unemployed, but there's a great danger of survival; you'll vote for me." Those who have rendered Adıyaman's youth unemployed, its retirees hungry, and its minimum wage earners impoverished—this is over. We will not allow this to continue.
"ERDOĞAN FEELS LONELY"
Now he's saying, "We're all three of us together." There's no political unity there, but Erdoğan feels lonely. He's gotten old and can't govern. Everyone in the party is undermining each other. We have the moral freedom, the psychological superiority, the energy of the majority, which is why the AK Party is searching for a new route. But we are all together, shoulder to shoulder. We are strong, we will win. From now on, we will find jobs and provide food for young AK Party members, MHP members, DEM Party members, CHP members, and İYİ Party members. We will build a prosperous Türkiye together.
Adıyaman, let us hold on tightly to the young, strong, dynamic party of Atatürk, who will lead this country shoulder to shoulder to civilization, wealth and freedom, not to the old, tired, angry and conflict-driven person who is trying to stay there with 29 percent.
"TAYYIP ERDOĞAN, THE NATION WILL NOT BOW TO YOU"
Tayyip Erdoğan can no longer choose to fight to further impoverish this country. I won't fight him just because he wants to. Tayyip Erdoğan is trying to squander a historic opportunity to create the appearance of a new alliance so he can maintain his power a little longer. I won't let him. I won't take a step back, I won't say a word less, just because he wants to. I won't bow an inch just because he wants to. If I step back, he will set the country back 100 years. He will undermine the very concept of citizenship. If I say a word less, he will silence this nation. If I bow an inch, he will force this nation to its knees. This nation hasn't bowed to the great powers, and Tayyip Erdoğan won't bow to you either.
Don't worry. Don't think that Tayyip Erdoğan makes all the plans, that his calculations will work. Those days are over. This nation has a score to settle now, and they will settle it at the ballot box.
