People over this age will not be able to use Instagram's new feature
Popular social media platform Instagram has announced a new customization feature that allows users to change the app icon on their phone's home screen. However, this feature is only available to users identified as "Teen Accounts."
With the update Instagram announced on Wednesday, young users now have access to six different versions of the classic camera logo, including neon, clear glass, fire, flowers, green slime, and chrome designs.
It was stated that the feature is currently only available to users aged 13 to 18. While this option is not available to adult accounts, many users expressed their outrage on social media about why there are age-based restrictions .
Young users can change the icon by tapping the camera icon on the app's homepage and selecting the desired design from the drop-down menu. From there, they can personalize their home screen icons.
According to experts, the reason behind Instagram's decision not to open this feature to adults is to protect its brand value.
