Huawei introduces new wearable devices: Watch Fit 4, Watch 5 and Freebuds 6

There is a huge competition in the wearable device market. We see that big tech giants, as well as more modest companies, are announcing new models. One of these companies, Huawei, has expanded its product range considerably, especially in recent years. The fact that it made a presentation in Berlin today specifically for these wearable products is an indication of how much it cares about this segment. In this presentation, the company announced its new wearable technologies consisting of headphones and watches.
Watch Fit 4 series
One of the company’s most significant series changes was the Watch Fit models. The Watch Fit 4 and 4 Pro models are aimed at different user profiles in a square format. While the Watch Fit 4 model is designed more for fashion enthusiasts and fitness enthusiasts, the Watch Fit 4 Pro model has a target audience for more extreme situations. This model is aimed more at users who love extreme sports such as hiking and outdoor athletes.
The Watch Fit 4 model, which weighs 27 grams , has a thickness of 9.5 mm. It can reach up to 2000 nits of brightness on the 1.82-inch screen. As I said, it appeals to a more fashion-forward audience with different colors and straps such as black, white, purple and gray.
When we look at the Watch Fit 4 Pro model, we see that it has a more solid case concept. This model, which has titanium sapphire glass, is suitable for extreme sports and outdoor sports activities such as golf. This screen is designed to be more resistant to scratches and impacts with aviation-class protection. We can also say that it offers a performance suitable for long journeys with a battery life of up to 20 days. Although this model is positioned as Pro, it has the feature of being the thinnest watch in the Fit series with 9.3 mm.
There are rubber and Janus strap models for the Watch 4 Pro, which has a brightness of 3000 nits. When we look at the colors, we see green, blue and black color options. This model also provides more accurate measurements in outdoor sports data with new barometer sensors. Again, on the diving side, there is a new depth sensor, more successful measurements for sleep tracking, comprehensive heart health monitoring, body temperature measurement, etc. One of the most important innovations in the watch is that it now completely eliminates the need for a phone to respond to messages. Although iOS support will come later, you will now be able to respond to a message directly from your phone when you receive it.
Watch 5 series
With 46 and 42 mm versions, the distinction between men and women has been eliminated in this series. The aim is to choose a suitable model according to the frame structure. The Watch 5 series, which has a brightness of up to 300 Nits, includes many models according to budget and preferences. The 46 mm models with a space-grade titanium case are available in brown, silver and purple color options, while the 46 mm model with a 316L stainless steel case
Black color option will be available. 42 mm 904L stainless steel case models have beige and sand gold color options, while 42 mm 316L stainless steel models have white and green color options.
The most important innovation of the Watch 5 series is that it uses X-Tap technology. With a touch sensor added to the right side of the watch face, you can get clearer results in most health applications. It also measures this data throughout the day with its multi-sensing feature. There is a pressure sensor that can detect fingertip pressure intensity, a glass-coated ECG electrode and a fingertip PPG sensor, and this sensor has X-Level + improved pressure sensitivity. ECG measurement, blood oxygen measurement and arterial stiffness detection can be made with this new sensor.
The most important difference in this watch model, which also has eSim support, is its battery performance. Because you can turn off some features on the watch and get a use like the Watch GT model. In normal use, the 42 mm version offers a battery life of 3 days, while the 46 mm version has a battery life of 4.5. In Watch GT mode, where some features such as eSim, fall detection, motion control, wireless network and independent map are turned off, the 42 mm version has a battery life of 7 days, and the 46 mm version has a battery life of 11 days.
Freebuds 6
The presentation also featured a new headphone model. Huawei Freebuds 6 is a model that stands out with its new features and longer battery life. The design of this headphone, which has a different design than classic headphones, was inspired by water drops. It has the same design concept as the previous model of the series. However, it can be called a more advanced version with newly added features.
The headphones are 30.6 mm long and weigh 4.9 grams. The charging case weighs 40.9 grams. The two-stage design of the headphones aims to be more balanced and not to tire the ear by placing the batteries at the bottom. The acoustic system is on the top, the batteries are on the bottom, and the control mechanism is in the middle. It has a structure that is 12% thinner and 9% lighter than the previous model.
In classical music, a larger drive area is required to achieve clearer and brighter highs. However, the common TWS design does not have enough area. This design, with its larger area and extra UHF planar diaphragm driver, the headphones handle high transients with precision and agility, ensuring authentic, crystal-clear articulation of instrumental details. It delivers up to 48 kHz to your ears, and complex melodies can be heard more clearly.
The "open design" in-ear structure allows for both the perception of sounds in the environment and provides a safer experience. The Stable and Clear Calls function, which comes with the improved microphone system, provides clear and trouble-free transmission even in crowded environments.
MatePad Pro 12.2”
Finally, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2-inch tablet model was also announced at the presentation. This model, which will be released in our country in June, comes with the company's new OLED screen with the popular PaperMatte technology. In this way, it is aimed to minimize reflection and glare problems and reduce eye fatigue. The device, which turns into a kind of laptop with the Huawei Glide Keyboard, offers easy carrying for the pen thanks to the new pen holder. The company has also made the Huawei Notes application more efficient with functions such as taking notes, drawing and editing documents.
