A rival is coming to Starlink

European aerospace companies have agreed to consolidate their loss-making satellite manufacturing operations to form a joint venture to rival US billionaire Elon Musk's Starlink. Airbus, France's Thales, and Italy's Leonardo announced that they aim for the new venture to begin operations in 2027. The companies will need approval from European regulators, who have historically opposed such a partnership. The new venture will have approximately 25,000 employees across Europe and generate sales of €6.5 billion.
