ÇANAKKALE IS IMPASSABLE (12)

Once upon a time, the village was a place where both Greek and Turkish neighbors lived in peace. The lower part of the village, where the church is, was the Greek neighborhood, while the upper part of the village was the Turkish neighborhood. Some of the buildings have walls nearly a meter thick, and the houses bear the signatures of the craftsmen who built them. The village, which once had 400 households, 3 olive oil factories, a tailor, shoemaker, blacksmith, taverns and a movie theater, is quieter and calmer today.
At the entrance to Adatepe Village, there is a dirt road that goes into the forest to the right. At the end of the road, which is 1.5 km round trip, there is a rock called Zeus Altar. This is an altar that is almost never left empty by the enthusiasts, 250 meters above sea level, with a rare beauty view. Edremit Bay will be under your feet.
You can't come to the North Aegean without tasting olive oil or olive oil products, of course. I think it wouldn't be wrong to say that olives and olive oil are among the most important values of the North Aegean. There is a place that can provide information about such an important and healthy product, and display its historical process and old production methods: Adatepe Olive Oil Museum. It is on the left at the entrance of Küçükkuyu as you come from Çanakkale.
Here you can see the tools used in olive oil production and examples of old products produced. The officer in the museum informs you about the stages of olive oil production. If you wish, you can also buy some of the unique olive oil of the Northern Aegean.
Bozcaada is one of the two islands of Çanakkale and also the only district in our country consisting of only the center. The island, which can be reached by ferries from the Odunluk Pier in Ezine Geyikli, also has bays and beaches where you can relax, visit and enjoy the Aegean to the fullest. As you approach Bozcaada by ferry, it welcomes you with its castle. Bozcaada, which already consists of a small center with two neighborhoods, also has places where you can taste the most delicious Aegean cuisine.
Although Ayazma Beach is the most famous, its coves and beaches such as Aquarium and Sulubahçe are not inferior to each other. But of course, Ayazma can be said to be one step ahead with its facilities and size. Bozcaada is one of the leading addresses of peace with Polente Lighthouse where you can watch the sunset, wine cellars, vineyards, castle, monasteries and churches. However, if you come to Bozcaada in the summer months and especially if it is a weekend, this may cause you not to find the peace you are looking for. Because the population of the island, which is around 2500, exceeds 10 thousand. But despite everything, Bozcaada is worth seeing and living in every way.
