Algeria will not speak French!

The decision aims to strengthen the removal of French from administrative traditions in the country.
In a statement made by the Algerian Football Federation, it was stated that all institutions affiliated with the federation were asked to use the "Arabic" language in their activities.
It was requested from the units affiliated with the federation that "the disciplinary board minutes, referee appointments, match programs, appeal committee decisions and correspondence sent to various institutions and partners should be written in Arabic and this practice should be implemented as soon as possible."
It was noted that the use of Arabic will be mandatory at all unit levels in the 2025-2026 sports season.
This decision was taken at the federation's board meeting held on April 30.
The Algerian government also decided in March that medical education at universities will be taught in English starting next academic year. Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune described the switch from French to English in medical education as "a step in the right direction."
Algerian water and sewage company SEAAL has announced that it has now started offering water bills, previously issued only in French, in a format both Arabic and English.
Responsible for water distribution in the cities of Algiers and Tipasa, SEAAL operated under French management from 2006 to 2021 under a partnership agreement with the French group "Suez".
However, in September 2021, Algerian authorities announced that the French company's contract would not be renewed, on the grounds that it was incompetent and failed to carry out its duties.
SEAAL said in a statement released on Wednesday that the move was part of its efforts to modernize its services and strengthen communication with its customers.
