🔹 AA Live for instant developmentsThe solution called "STEMBOR", which has both preventive and therapeutic effects on joint and cartilage diseases, has begun to be used for research purposes.
KUYAM Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kar told an AA correspondent that they have been working for 10 years to promote the use of boron, a mineral found in the Kütahya region, in healthcare, and that they had previously developed a product called "BOROBIOTA," which uses boron for the treatment of intestinal diseases.

Kar, noting that their second boron-based product is aimed at joint and cartilage diseases, said, "Joint and cartilage diseases are on the rise today. Some of the most significant problems facing our people as they age include knee pain, the inability to climb stairs, the inability to walk, and diseases like arthritis. We set out to develop a product that is both preventative and therapeutic in this area."
"We combined boron mineral with stem cell transplantation"Kar reported that stem cell transplantation for the treatment of joint and cartilage diseases was synthesized with boron derivatives.

Kar stated that the product they developed yielded positive results in animal tests and noted the following:
Our latest product, STEMBOR, is currently in the patent process and was developed as a research product. It combines boron and its derivatives, which we synthesize ourselves, with stem cell transplantation. We believe this project, which aims to develop national and domestic products for healthcare in Türkiye, is a promising product with both preventive and therapeutic effects on joint diseases.
Kar, noting that imports are made for the treatment of joint and cartilage diseases, emphasized that they will make a great economic contribution to Türkiye thanks to the product they developed.
Kar added that a team of 10 people from the center, consisting of students and academics, worked in the development of the project.
