The house arrest of BİRTEK-SEN Chairman Mehmet Türkmen has been lifted

The hearing of Mehmet Türkmen, the Chairman of the United Textile Weaving and Leather Workers' Union (BİRTEK-SEN), who was arrested during the workers' protests in Gaziantep and then given judicial control in the form of house arrest, was held today at the Gaziantep Courthouse.

At the hearing, the court panel lifted Türkmen's house arrest decision. The next hearing was postponed to July 18.

The house arrest decision of our General Chairman Mehmet Türkmen was lifted in the hearing held today! The case was postponed to July 18. In this case, it is not just Mehmet Türkmen who is on trial; it is the workers' struggle for their union rights, their demand for humane work and an honorable life.
