The fastest daily rise in the stock market in the last two years

BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul gained 5.78 percent, seeing its fastest daily rise since May 11, 2023, and closed the day at 9,948.51 points.

BIST 100 index increased by 543.62 points compared to the previous close. Total transaction volume reached 165 billion liras.

The banking index gained 9.64 percent and the holding index gained 4.42 percent.

Among the sector indices, the biggest gainer was banking, while the only loser was financial leasing factoring with 0.13 percent.

BIST 100 index gained 7.87 percent on May 11, 2023.

Risk appetite has increased in global markets due to expectations that the US will reach an agreement on tariffs with its trading partners and that trade agreements will be made. The intense data agenda to be followed this week, especially the employment data to be released in the US, is in the focus of investors.

Analysts stated that the 10,000 and 10,100 levels in the BIST 100 index are resistance, while the 9,600 and 9,500 points are support.
