Operation against criminal organizations in 11 provinces: 35 detained
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 35 suspects, including two ringleaders, were caught in an operation targeting the "Organized Crime Organization", which has a transaction volume of 2.5 billion TL in its accounts in 11 provinces and is based in Aydın.
Interior Minister Yerlikaya shared a post on his social media account: "In our operations conducted by our Gendarmerie against the 'Organized Crime Organization', led by KU and H.İ.K., with a transaction volume of 2.5 billion TL in its accounts in 11 provinces centered in Aydın, we caught 35 suspects, including 2 ringleaders. 33 of them were arrested. It was determined that the suspects, who are members of the organized crime organization, defrauded our citizens by directing them to fake stock exchange applications, whom they contacted through social media platforms, and laundered the proceeds of crime through front companies they established under the name of so-called investment, finance and crypto consultancy. The suspects caught in the operations conducted in Hatay, Istanbul, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Mardin, Muğla, Antalya, İzmir, Niğde and Sinop, centered in Aydın, were charged with the crimes of Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing a Crime, Aggravated Fraud by Using Information Systems and Laundering Assets Derived from Crime." Our prosecutor's office launched an investigation against them. Ten vehicles, 16 plots of land, two houses, 814 bank accounts, and 35 cryptocurrency accounts belonging to the suspects and companies, valued at approximately 300 million Turkish Lira, were seized. Numerous documents, papers, and digital materials were seized as a result of the operations.
