One-third of the MPs who entered Parliament from the CHP lists changed parties

A total of 39 candidates from the Nation Alliance parties won seats in Parliament on the CHP ticket in the May 14 General Elections. The DEVA Party won 15 seats, the Future Party and the Felicity Party 10, the Democrat Party 3, and the İYİ Party and the Turkey Change Party each received one seat. Some of the MPs who won on the CHP ticket resigned from their parties. Some joined the AKP, while others remained independent.

In the 2023 General Elections, the CHP allocated seats to the Nation Alliance parties on its own list. According to the election results, a total of 39 members of parliament from the DEVA Party, Felicity Party, Future Party, Democrat Party, Good Party, and Turkey Change Party were elected on the CHP list.
The CHP won a total of 169 seats in the elections, while the quotas allocated to candidates from other parties were successful. The DEVA Party fielded 25 candidates, 15 of whom entered Parliament. The Felicity Party fielded 24 candidates, 10 of whom were elected to parliament. The Future Party fielded 19 candidates, 10 of whom won Parliament.
Those elected to parliament from the DEVA Party on the CHP lists are: Sadullah Ergin and İdris Şahin (Ankara), Sadullah Kısacık (Adana), Burak Dalgın (Balıkesir), Ertuğrul Kaya (Gaziantep), Medeni Yılmaz, Mustafa Yeneroğlu, Evrim Rızvanoğlu, Elif Esen and Hasan Karal (Istanbul), Seda Kaya Ösen (Izmir), Selma Aliye Kavaf (Manisa), Mehmet Emin Ekmen (Mersin), and Cem Avşar (Tekirdağ). Notably, former Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin was also among these names.
Those who entered Parliament from the Felicity Party (SP) on the CHP lists: Mesut Doğan (Ankara), Şerafettin Kılıç (Antalya), Mehmet Atmaca (Bursa), Necmettin Çalışkan (Hatay), Birol Aydın, Mustafa Kaya and Bülent Kaya (Istanbul), Mahmut Arıkan (Kayseri), Hasan Bitmez (Kocaeli), and Mehmet Karaman (Samsun). Thus, the SP succeeded in sending 10 of its 24 candidates to Parliament.
Those elected from the Future Party: Mustafa Nedim Yamalı (Ankara), Serap Yazıcı Özbudun (Antalya), Cemalettin Kani Torun (Bursa), Sema Silkin Ün (Denizli), Selim Temurci, İsa Mesih Şahin and Doğan Demir (Istanbul), Mustafa Bilici (Izmir), Hasan Ekici (Konya), and Selçuk Özdağ (Muğla). The Future Party nominated 10 of its 19 candidates to parliament.
All three candidates nominated by the Democrat Party were elected to parliament: Cemal Enginyurt (Istanbul), Haydar Altıntaş, and Salih Uzun (Izmir). Thus, the Democrat Party achieved a 100% success rate.
Seventeen candidates from the İYİ Party appeared on the CHP's lists, but only Ahmet Ersagun Yücel (Istanbul) was elected as an MP. Mustafa Sarıgül, Chairman of the Türkiye Change Party, also became an MP from Erzincan.
After the election, these MPs initially switched to their own parties, but significant changes occurred over time. Some of the 39 MPs elected from the CHP list switched to other parties, while others remained independent.
Ahmet Ersagun Yücel, who was elected from the CHP list from the İYİ Party, resigned from his party on July 22, 2024, and joined the AKP on August 14, 2024. Mustafa Nedim Yamalı (Ankara) from the Future Party resigned on December 24, 2024, and joined the AKP on December 25, 2024.
Serap Yazıcı Özbudun, one of the founders of the Future Party and the party's Antalya MP , resigned from the party on February 22. Announcing her decision, "I am resigning from the Future Party as I see the need," Özbudun joined the AKP on February 22.
Cemal Enginyurt (Istanbul) and Salih Uzun (Izmir) from the Democrat Party resigned from their parties on November 18, 2024, and joined the CHP on February 4. Selma Aliye Kavaf (Manisa) from the DEVA Party resigned on January 8 and joined the CHP on January 28. Seda Kaya Ösen (Izmir) from the DEVA Party resigned on April 22 and joined the CHP on May 19.
In order to prevent the parliamentary group from falling, Ertuğrul Kaya (Gaziantep) and Mehmet Emin Ekmen (Mersin) from the DEVA Party joined the Felicity Party on December 27, 2024.
Mustafa Yeneroğlu (Istanbul) resigned from the DEVA Party on December 26, 2024, remaining independent. Selim Temurci and İsa Mesih Şahin (Istanbul) resigned from the Future Party on July 19. Evrim Rızvanoğlu (Istanbul) resigned from the DEVA Party on June 27. DEVA Party Balıkesir MP Burak Dalgın (Balıkesir) also resigned from his party on January 7.
As a result of these changes, approximately one-third of the 39 MPs elected from the CHP list either defected to other parties or became independents. DEVA and the Future Party, in particular, experienced significant meltdowns.
