A few weeks ago, SATENA Airlines announced the arrival of its second ATR 72-600 aircraft as part of its fleet modernization plan. The aircraft, registered HK 5465 / FAC 1168, completed a four-day flight spanning more than 25 hours between Europe and Latin America.
The journey began on September 25 in Sønderborg, Denmark, with a first stop in Keflavik, Iceland. It then made stops in Goose Bay and Halifax, Canada, before heading to Nassau, Bahamas. It landed in Bogotá on September 27 at 9:48 p.m. local time.
“Each new aircraft represents more than an operational boost; it's a symbol of confidence in our mission to bring progress and connectivity to the most remote regions of the country. This second ATR strengthens our fleet and allows us to expand opportunities for passengers and the communities that depend on Satena,” Zuluaga said.
With this addition, the company's fleet now includes 16 aircraft, including ATR 42s, ATR 72s , Embraer 145s, and Twin Otters. HK 5465 joins HK 5464, received in mid-September, and precedes the arrival of the third aircraft scheduled for early October.
