Meta unveiled the Oakley Meta Vanguard , a new line of high-performance eyewear powered by artificial intelligence (AI) designed for high-intensity sports, on September 18 at the Connect event.

Sports features with Garmin and Strava The device connects to compatible Garmin equipment and the Strava app, allowing real-time metrics to be viewed without the need for screens or phones. Users can ask Meta AI for data like heart rate or pace, and receive signals via a peripheral LED indicating whether they're meeting their goals.

Camera and recording modes The central camera is 12 megapixels with a 122-degree wide-angle lens, capable of recording up to 3K. It offers modes like slow motion, hyperlapse, and adjustable stabilization. It's designed to capture workouts, downhill runs, or competitions from the athlete's perspective, hands-free.
