The Deputy Minister of Health, Cecilia Loccisano, resigned

Cecilia Loccisano resigned this Monday as Deputy Minister of Health of the Nation and stated that she will continue "supporting and working to contribute to the development of a modern health system, less bureaucratic and closer to the real needs of people."
The now former official announced her departure via social media with a message in X. She thanked President Javier Milei and Mario Lugones , head of the health ministry, for the opportunity to participate in the administration.
He did not give details about the reasons for his departure , within the framework of changes in the national Cabinet.
Loccisano had been one of the official voices during the conflict over the salaries of residents and doctors at Garrahan Hospital . In one of his strongest statements, he accused the former Kirchnerist Minister of Health, Daniel Gollán, of "openly calling for a coup d'état" while IOMA, the Buenos Aires province's social security agency, owes the hospital more than 4 billion pesos.

On her X account, Loccisano wrote: "Today I submitted my resignation to the Minister of Health, Mario Lugones , from the position of Secretary of Administrative Management and Vice Minister of Health of the Nation.
"For many years I had the honor of being part of this Ministry, contributing my experience and knowledge to the service of the health of Argentinians," he explained.
He added: "This journey allowed me to witness great transformations and challenges that strengthened my commitment to efficient, responsible management focused on those who need it most."
Later, in his message, he indicated that he will continue to support the current administration, even after leaving office. "From wherever I am, I will continue to support and work to contribute to the development of a modern healthcare system, less bureaucratic and more responsive to people's real needs."
Finally, he mentioned the head of state and Lugones, thanking them "for the trust and opportunity to have been part of the team."
In October 2024, Loccisano had been confirmed in her position by the current Minister of Health two weeks after his taking office, after the official had a dispute with the previous head of the area and then outgoing, Mario Russo.

This Monday, minutes after his resignation was announced, Lugones spoke publicly about the departure of his now former number two.
"Thank you Cecilia for your work and dedication during a key stage of reorganization and modernization of the healthcare system," he began his message.
He continued: "We are deepening the transformation towards a more efficient, transparent healthcare system that serves patients and healthcare teams."
Among his latest statements on the administration, also through social media, Loccisano had highlighted "the improvement in the registration of vaccination coverage in 2024".
"The Ministry is consolidating its leadership role, with evidence-based decisions and greater transparency. Efficiency in the use of public resources translates into concrete results for the health of Argentinians," he had written.
