Citizens strengthen medical care in Zapopan with contributions

Thanks to the social commitment of the people of Zapopan, the Zapopan Health Board received a donation of 2,124,075 pesos, an amount raised through the "Join the Cause" campaign, with the aim of benefiting low-income patients at the Hospitalito, the six Cruz Verde Units, and the AquaCentro for Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy.
During the symbolic delivery, the director of Revenue of the municipality, Rubí Gómez, explained that The check for 2 million 73 thousand 870 pesos corresponds to voluntary contributions made by taxpayers when paying the 2025 Property Tax. In addition, 50,205 pesos were collected through so-called "ant donations," deposited in 65 collection boxes distributed in the municipality's collection offices and medical units.
The collection boxes were placed last January, during the inauguration of the Hospitalito renovations, as part of the formal launch of the campaign. "Every peso received is used transparently to benefit those most in need." , Gomez said.

In the 2022–2024 period alone, the Board provided assistance to 280 people in vulnerable situations, mostly older adults and people who had accidents. So far in 2025, 70 support programs have already been awarded.

During the event, the director of the Zapopan Health Services OPD, Miguel Ricardo Ochoa Plascencia, emphasized the importance of the collective effort to improve healthcare in the municipality. "We are committed to ensuring that these resources will be used for a just and noble purpose," he stated.

Since its establishment in 2022, the Zapopan Health Board has served as a key tool for providing direct support to patients with financial needs, thus strengthening access to healthcare in the municipality.
