Fans of the Taylor Sheridan TV universe have yet another project to sink their teeth into. Dutton Ranch, a spin-off of Yellowstone, continues Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler’s story as they attempt to fiercely protect their namesake ranch.
And as a bonus: “The show is expected to remain on the same present-day timeline as the original series, with the new offshoot sharing the most DNA with the mothership of any show in the universe to date,” Deadline reported.
“The Dutton Ranch, home to Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, is a testament to the peace they sought, fought for, and nearly died for, as they’ve come to cherish their 7,000-acre ranch,” the official logline for the show reads. “With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”
The cast is equally as excited for Dutton Ranch to make its way to viewers. Cole Hauser, who plays Rip, called it a “badass fucking show” in an interview with Shortlist, adding that the Duttons “take the leap of faith to go to Texas and try something new. They’re so used to Montana and the life that they’ve been living up there, and the comforts of it, but to take the risk and go to Montana and start new with Carter—I think it’s badass, and what happens in the show is pretty cool.”
