This is how the exchange rate appeared after the imposition of 30% tariffs

The Mexican currency opened at around 18.72 pesos per dollar on international markets, depreciating 0.45%, or 8 cents, compared to the previous day, according to Bloomberg.

This week, Banorte analysts expect a wholesale exchange rate range of between 18.50 and 18.85 pesos per dollar.
The dollar index, which compares the performance of the US currency against the other six major world currencies, opened with a 0.1% appreciation. The euro fell 0.06% against the greenback, while the pound lost 0.21%.
Bitcoin, the most active currency in the cryptocurrency market, rose 2.98% as its appeal to investors increased.
At the beginning of the week, global stock markets are showing mostly negative movements, after learning about a modest economic agenda, as well as the new tariffs, by the President of the United States Donald Trump's 30.0% tax on his main trading partners, Mexico and the European Union, has generated new trade tensions.

The price of U.S. WTI crude oil, the benchmark for the Mexican blend, rose 1.36% due to the announcement of a trade surplus in China during the first half of 2025. Precious metals rose and industrial metals fell, with silver up 1.4% and copper down 1.5%.
