Official! Starbucks bans pets from all locations nationwide.

Starbucks Costa Rica announced that, from now on, pets will not be allowed in any of its branches in the country. The decision responds to regulations from the Ministry of Health , which reinforce health regulations in establishments that sell and handle food.
The announcement was made through social media , a fact that was met with criticism from users who commented on the posts, claiming they were going to these branches accompanied by their best "friends," although many others "celebrated" it.
Mandatory health measureAccording to current regulations, pets are not allowed in cafes, restaurants, or food businesses, except for assistance dogs , who are allowed as long as they do not enter food handling areas.
According to reports from Diario Extra and NCR Noticias , the stricter enforcement of the rule arose after recent incidents at shopping centers, including the case at Multiplaza Escazú , where a dog bit a child. These incidents accelerated the implementation of stricter controls.

Although pets will no longer be allowed to accompany their owners inside stores, the chain clarified that customers can still take their pooches through the drive-thru , where they can be pampered with the popular Puppuccino .

Starbucks thanked its customers for their understanding and reiterated that the measure seeks to strictly comply with national health regulations. In Mexico , this restriction does not yet apply, as some establishments' terraces remain "Dog Friendly," although access to the interior remains restricted for pets.
