The tent room in Charlottenhof, the cranes in Paretz Palace, or the Moorish patterns of the steam engine house in Potsdam: The Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation has assembled magnificent decorations in its buildings – now six of them are available as SALON gift wrap.

Beautifully wrapped: The decorations in the connecting corridors to the side wings of the Marble Palace are one of six gift wrap inspirations.

We could hardly decide , so vast is the abundance of patterns and styles in the houses of the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation. Together with Carlo Paulus from the Foundation and in collaboration with the Franz and Walther König bookstore, we selected six wallpapers and murals that we were allowed to print as gift wrap.

From wall to paper: the stone-cut-like painting from 1790 from the chamber “en Camaieu” in the Marble Palace, the summer residence of the Prussian King Frederick William II.

The decorations date predominantly from the 19th century and are a true feast for the eyes, not only for castle enthusiasts but also for history buffs. Our folder includes a short story about each decoration, such as how Paretz Palace, built in 1797, might never have been renovated without its valuable hand-painted wallpapers. First, the wallpaper was saved – and then, in 1999, the palace was restored.

Exceptionally decorative, historically grounded and just in time for Christmas: Each of the six wrapping papers tells its own story.

Featuring Moorish patterns: The steam engine house, built by Ludwig Persius between 1841 and 1843, is considered the "mosque" of 19th-century industrial architecture.

Striped motif: The walls of the tent room in Charlottenhof, originally the bedroom of the ladies-in-waiting, are covered with paper wallpaper, the curtains and canopies are made of linen.
