Persistent foramen ovale: More diagnoses in young stroke patients
According to a study, the proportion of patients under 60 years of age with ischemic stroke who are diagnosed with a patent foramen ovale (PFO) has increased – presumably due to corresponding guideline recommendations. However, the expected association with the risk of recurrence could not be established.
