Hemicolectomy: Apparently faster healing with intracorporeal intestinal anastomosis
In right-sided hemicolectomy, the intracorporeal anastomosis technique appears to be superior to the extracorporeal approach. A study from the University Hospital of Erlangen found that this approach resulted in fewer wound infections, less postoperative pain, and a shorter hospital stay.
