|The former E.ON CEO is a newcomer to the industry. That's exactly what was desired.
There have been some constants at Lufthansa for decades: The CEO, with a few long-standing exceptions, comes from within the company. And the same applies to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Klaus Schlede, Jürgen Weber, Wolfgang Mayrhuber, Karl-Ludwig Kley – whoever headed the board had a past on the Lufthansa Executive Board. Schlede and Kley were Chief Financial Officers, while Weber and Mayrhuber even served as CEOs.
