The state transport ministers have agreed on a new price for the ticket. In the future, it will cost €63 per month. Does this violate the coalition agreement?

The Deutschlandticket is here to stay – and it's likely to get more expensive. The price of the ticket is set to rise from €58 to €63 next year. The state transport ministers agreed on this at a meeting in Munich on Thursday. They also decided "that we will refrain from our political pricing in the future," said Bavaria's Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter (CSU), who currently also chairs the Conference of Transport Ministers. Starting in 2027, the price will be set based on a transparent index based on inflation. This is "a major step forward," said Bernreiter. "Users can rely on it."
