Raid on vehicle carrying illegal immigrants in Bursa: 7 immigrants, 1 organizer caught

Bursa Police Department Anti-Smuggling and Border Gates Department teams, as part of their work targeting migrant smuggling organizers, determined that illegal migrants from Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep and Mersin provinces were being transported to Bursa by vehicle for a fee. The vehicle, which was being followed by the police, was stopped on Kestel -Ankara Street. During the checks carried out on the vehicle, 7 illegal migrants, including the driver AT, were caught. It was learned that the illegal migrants, whose statements were taken, had agreed with the driver AT of the vehicle to come to Bursa for a total of 7 thousand TL. After the procedures at the police station, the illegal migrants were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
While it was determined that the vehicle carrying the immigrants was rented, a fine of 46,392 TL was imposed for the crime of 'pirate transportation' and the vehicle was banned from traffic for 60 days and towed to a parking lot. It was reported that the legal process initiated against the organizer AT, who was detained, is ongoing.
