Statement from Metehan Baltacı regarding the betting investigation

Galatasaray's young player Metehan Baltacı, who was referred to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) as a precaution within the scope of the betting investigation, stated that he did not "bet" on any match of the team he played for.

Metehan Baltacı, who published a statement on his Instagram account, a US-based social media platform, used the following statements:

I would like to inform the public correctly about my involvement in the disciplinary process initiated by the Turkish Football Federation. I have always strived to be present on the field through my hard work, determination, and struggle. I have always strived to act responsibly towards every club I've played for and its fans. Years ago, I made a betting transaction that failed to grasp the seriousness of the matter. I later terminated the transaction because I believed it was unbecoming of my athletic stance. I would like to emphasize that this transaction was not related to matches involving the teams I play for. I am an athlete who believes in the fairness of football and believe that this truth will be revealed as soon as possible. I am deeply saddened that my name has been brought up in such a matter. I would especially like to emphasize that I pledge before the entire football community to be more vigilant in every aspect of my life from now on.
