Designed with the benefits of artificial intelligence, the world's first robot police 'Cyborg 1.0' was deployed during the Songkran Festival in Thailand's Nakhon Pathom province, wearing a uniform like police.
The police said in a statement:
“The Royal Thai Police 7th Region police and Nakhon Pathom police, together with the Nakhon Pathom Municipality, introduced the ‘AI Police Cyborg 1.0’, a Robocop police robot with intelligent AI cameras around its body. This police officer can activate existing security cameras in and around the venue and flying drones to ensure security. The robot police officer, with its facial recognition system, issues an alert when a person with an arrest warrant is detected. It can detect knives and other weapon-like objects (excluding water guns) that may pose a danger at the venue.”
Artificial intelligence technology also enables it to monitor surroundings by analyzing CCTV and drone footage from wherever it is.
