Detention message from Tunç Soyer: We did nothing to make you bow your head

Former mayor Tunç Soyer, who was detained as part of the operations against the İZBETON company and cooperatives as part of the investigation conducted by the İzmir Public Prosecutor's Office, said, "I have no other sorrow than the sorrow of my loved ones and those who love me. Be assured that my forehead is clear, my head is held high, and be assured that we have not done anything that would make you bow your head either."

Former Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, who was detained within the scope of the investigation launched by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and its subsidiary İZBETON AŞ, made a written statement on his social media account.

"BE SURE THAT MY FOREGO IS CLEAR AND MY HEAD IS ELECTRIC"

Tunç Soyer made evaluations regarding the detention process in his post and used the following expressions:

“Dear friends, unfortunately I am addressing you from custody through my lawyer daughter. I have no other sorrow than the sorrow of my loved ones and those who love me. Be assured that; my forehead is clear, my head is upright and I am sure that we have not done anything that would make you bow your head either. I also wish a speedy recovery to the families of my bureaucrat friends that I am proud of and ask them to stand tall and be patient. No matter what you do, the shadow of the darkness that you are trying to grow in Türkiye will not fall on Izmir! Our struggle will continue to grow stronger as always.”
