UN report urges Pakistan to take action: Sends 100 tons of aid to Gaza

Following the UN-backed monitoring agency Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report confirming the famine in Gaza, Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a statement on the US -based Facebook social media platform.
In the statement, it was announced that a 100-ton aid package consisting of flour, ready-made meals, oil, jam and fruits was prepared upon the instructions of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and departed from Lahore for shipment to Gaza.
It was stated that this was the 19th aid package sent by Pakistan to Gaza, and that the total amount of shipments reached 1,915 tons.
The Gaza Strip, under Israeli attacks and a tight blockade restricting the entry of humanitarian aid, is experiencing a humanitarian catastrophe, with widespread hunger and a lack of water, medicine, medical supplies and hygiene materials.
Deaths from hunger, especially among children, are rising in the Gaza Strip. Local and international circles are warning that Israel is using "hunger and thirst as weapons."
The latest report published by the IPC stated that, as of August 15, 2025, the famine in Gaza City (level 5 of the IPC, known as the catastrophic level) was confirmed by reasonable evidence, and that "after 22 months of brutal conflict, more than half a million people in the Gaza Strip face catastrophic conditions characterized by hunger, poverty and death."
