Mother's Day celebration from Turkish Red Crescent in earthquake zone

Red Crescent President Prof. Dr. Fatma Meriç Yılmaz and famous chefs Danilo Zanna, Somer Sivrioğlu and Mehmet Yalçınkaya paid a Mother's Day visit to the residents of the Red Crescent Nursing Home in Kartal.
As part of ongoing recovery activities in the earthquake region, the Turkish Red Crescent organized events to celebrate Mother's Day in Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Malatya and Osmaniye. Within the scope of programs aimed at strengthening the bond between mothers and children and providing psychosocial support, mothers and their children participated in art therapies, psychoeducation, letter writing and gift preparation workshops in different areas. Programs were also organized for children with special education needs and their mothers within the scope of Mother's Day events.
Within the scope of the Turkish Red Crescent's 'Lives Cooked with Kindness' project, General President Prof. Dr. Fatma Meriç Yılmaz and famous chefs Danilo Zanna, Somer Sivrioğlu and Mehmet Yalçınkaya paid a Mother's Day visit to the Red Crescent Nursing Home in Kartal, Istanbul. Yılmaz and the chefs met with the residents of the nursing home, had breakfast with conversation, and celebrated Mother's Day for the mothers living in the nursing home by cutting a cake.
Yilmaz said, “This is where the parents of our Red Crescent family are. It is very valuable for us to come and kiss their hands on Mother’s Day, to see their smiles and receive their blessings. Our chefs also came to kiss the hands of our elders with us as a surprise, I thank you very much.”
Chief Yalçınkaya said, “The Red Crescent has a very special place for us. We go whenever they call us, sometimes we go without calling. We are in the best place we can be on Mother’s Day, we are very happy, we celebrate everyone’s Mother’s Day.”
Chief Sivrioğlu said, “Meeting with our mothers makes us very happy. We are doing great things with the Red Crescent. It is good that we are working for the Red Crescent. I congratulate all our mothers on Mother's Day.”
Chief Zanna said, “How lucky we are to be here. We kiss the hands of every mother in Türkiye, in the world, everywhere, we are so glad we have you.”
