The teacher whom Minister Tekin called a 'megalomaniac' decided to go on hunger strike

A teacher who was the victim of an interview reacted at the 19th Book Reading Contest organized by Zeytinburnu Municipality, attended by the Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin.

Teacher Özkan Özdemir told Tekin, "We have been waiting for you for 188 days. You wait for us for 5 minutes. We, as teachers who were victims of interviews, waited at your door. Instead of confronting us, you manipulated society and public opinion with perceptions. We suffered in the interview cruelty. We waited at your door regardless of snow or storm. You responded to politicians on our behalf. But in terms of responding to us, settling accounts with us..."

"YOU ARE SUCH A MEGALOMAN CHILD..."

When Tekin asked, "Is it over?", the teacher said, "It's not over, Mr. Minister," to which Tekin said, "Then wait outside and let's talk, okay?" As the teacher was being taken out of the hall, Minister Tekin made the following statement:

"We have talked to you at least 30 times. You are such a megalomaniac child that you perceive not talking to you as talking to others. This attitude of yours is rude and immoral.

ASSOCIATED WITH TERROR

Dear guests, this friend's attitude is as follows. What kind of structures, what kind of terrorist organizations, and how he is related have been revealed by intelligence reports. Yes, he is taking action. However, I have personally made appointments with at least 30 different groups who are in this situation and claim to be victims, we have talked in very different environments. But this friend of ours is so superior, such a megalomaniac that we will have to meet with him and he sees himself in so many different places that he perceives everyone as representing himself.

"With all due respect, we have no time for such megalomaniac characters who look down on people like this and say, 'I speak on behalf of everyone, on behalf of society, on behalf of the nation.' Let them go and mind their own business. I am truly sorry on your behalf for sabotaging such meetings."

"IF THERE IS INJUSTICE, OBJECT LEGALLY"

Tekin then made the following statement about how the interviews were conducted:

"Like our friend who spoke a moment ago, our friends who want to sabotage and terrorize the place come out and say, 'Injustice was done', I'll say it again. If injustice was done, make an official, written objection. Let's look at the minutes, the camera recording. No. 'Where did you commit injustice? You gave a higher grade to my classmate who entered another city', brother, let that man object, object to something. I need to solve a legal problem, say something so that we can act accordingly. We did something here upon the instructions of our President. We created a regulation that will not usurp the rights of others, will not commit injustice. From now on, to those who object to this, to those who make their objections with such a terrorizing logic, with actions here and there, I have only one piece of advice. Brother, file a lawsuit, object. Then come and say, 'There are things on record, injustice was done to me here', and I will correct it accordingly. He does none of these, he shouts here and there. Excuse me, I am the one who entrusted our children to you, We strive to choose the best teachers among all the candidates to whom we entrust our smiling children.

"WE WILL DO THE SAME AGAIN"

I apologize to you, my friends, I did not want to make this introduction, but we need to respond to friends who lie, slander, and make accusations like this. I assure you that, upon the instructions of our President, we have implemented a very fair and objective interview system without violating a single right of others, where neither AKP nor MHP deputies nor my politician friends have ever given names, given a list, or anything like that, and such a thing has never happened. Now we will do the same thing again. If anyone has the slightest objection, they should object. At the end of the exam, we will evaluate that objection and resolve any injustice. I had to make this unpleasant introduction. First of all, I apologize to all of you. But while I am working so hard not to violate rights of others and not to commit injustice, I do not want to accept that I and my friends are treated unfairly and be accused of such injustice."

HE WILL START A HUNGER STRIKE

On the other hand, Özdemir used the following statements on his social media account regarding his 'relationship with terrorist organizations' remarks:

"I am making an open call to all state institutions; as stated by the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Turkey, it is said that I have ties to terrorist organizations. You have to consider this statement of the Minister as a denunciation. You cannot allow someone who has ties to terrorist organizations to roam freely in society.

If these allegations are true, I will be sitting at home. No one is holding you back to arrest you. Otherwise, I will go on an indefinite hunger strike starting on Monday unless the Minister of National Education apologizes to me. I have lived in this world with my honor and dignity. I will not bow to the assassination of reputation of a person who uses a seat granted to him to throw mud and leave no traces."
