The procedures of former Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, CHP Izmir Provincial Chairman Şenol Aslanoğlu and 135 people who were detained on July 1 as part of the operation against Izmir Metropolitan Municipality have been completed at the police station. The 137 people who were detained were sent to Izmir Courthouse.

According to the information received, it was recorded that although Aslanoğlu stated in his statement that Şenol Aslanoğlu was the originator of the project when asked about when and for what purpose the SS İş İnsanları Örnekköy Housing Construction Cooperative was established and who was in the management of the cooperative , he said that he was not the originator of this work and stated that he learned about the process later and was involved.

Reminding that the prosecutor's office has launched an investigation again due to the allegations of Osman Gökçek, the son of former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek, on a television program, Aslanoğlu said, “This time, the prosecutor's office wanted to take our defenses and statements through the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization. The Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization invited us upon the request of the prosecutor's office. I went on my own two feet again and gave my statement regarding the questions asked regarding this cooperative issue. Despite the final decisions of the court, the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization asked the same questions. I answered these questions. In other words, whenever I was invited by the security forces, I accepted the invitation without delay and voluntarily gave the statements requested of me by the Prosecutor's Office. As the İzmir Provincial Chairman of the Republican People's Party, I sat in the same protocol with the Governor of İzmir, the Chief of Security of İzmir and the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office of İzmir in many meetings every week. Whenever they said, 'We need your statement,' I would come anyway. My place, job, profession and place in society are clear. I would come anyway if I was called. I would not be detained. Stating that SS İş İnsanları Örnekköy Konut Yapı Kooperatifi only made an agreement with City Construction Yapı Sanayi Ticaret Limited Şirketi as a subcontractor, Aslanoğlu noted that he did not sign a contract with any company other than City Construction Yapı and did not pay any progress payments. Drawing attention to the fact that all cooperatives are required to be audited by independent auditing institutions, Aslanoğlu stated that the cooperative's accounting records were audited by an independent auditing board and that no irregularities were found in the auditing report.

Aslanoğlu, claiming that the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization created perception, said, "The real problem is how much money was collected to make the construction. In other words, whether the money you collected is equivalent to the level the construction has reached today. In order for a contractor to make an irregular and unjust profit, either he should receive a payment other than the stupid earnings payment or his earnings payment should be irregular. How should a earnings payment be, the unit price should be exorbitantly high according to market conditions or the quantity of the work done should be inflated. In other words, the work that has not been done should be shown as done. In other words, you should issue a payment as if you have built a 10-meter wall and 100-meter wall. Since each work done is first checked by İZBETON control engineers and then checked by Metropolitan Control engineers and since there is no report, writing, criticism or even words by them stating that these works are deficient, no irregularities can be mentioned regarding the quantities."

Noting that every worker, material and machine that entered the cooperative from the moment it started construction was first seen and approved by İZBETON authorities, Aslanoğlu made the following defense:

''Then, the Metropolitan Municipality Urban Transformation Department officials see and approve. The constructions are done by the cooperative, the cooperative's subcontractor CITY company and its subcontractors, and they are seen and approved by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Urban Transformation officials every day. If the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Urban Transformation Department says that the cooperative built 15-storey buildings and 400 apartments without my knowledge and that I had no permission, this would be the real fraud. The construction activity started in April 2022 and continued until the Urban Transformation Department's letter to stop the construction activities. It is under the auspices of the Urban Transformation Department, in front of everyone's eyes and with the knowledge of the entire media. There is a deliberate misleading of the judiciary in the above claim. Due to the alleged faulty concrete production, the cooperative that the Urban Transformation Department is taking action on is the third stage Örnekköy project. The cooperative that I chair is kilometers away. It is despicable to damage reputation by playing word games, as if the Örnekköy Business People Cooperative had anything to do with a construction activity that we have nothing to do with, as if a mistake was made.''

Stating that Ayşe Arzu Özçelik is the Head of the Urban Transformation Department of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Aslanoğlu said, "Since the very beginning, since the urban transformation work was not given to the contractors she wanted, the cooperatives, in other words, the citizens themselves, made her very uncomfortable and she is a person who acts with bad intentions to slow down and delay the whole process and not to complete the work and transactions. For this reason, the Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Tunç Soyer determined the situation, the Department Headships were closed and the lady in question was removed from that position. She made a statement with the grudge and hatred she felt for this. Later, when the mayor changed, as she wanted very much, she was made the Head of the Department again by Mr. Cemil Tugay. Since the day she took office, she did everything she could to cancel the contract regarding the cooperatives. As soon as the contracts were canceled, she made an effort to have the construction, which is still a matter of debate whether it is 32 percent or 55 percent complete, built by a contractor."

It was stated that Şenol Aslanoğlu did not accept the accusations against him in his statement, and that giving work to his own subcontractor during the time he was the president of the cooperative and a subcontractor was not a tender, and that he could not be accused of rigging the tender.
