Neighborhood virus alert issued

In the statement made by EODY, it was reminded that West Nile virus is seen in many countries every year, especially in the summer months, and since 2010, cases have been encountered almost every year in Greece.

In the statement, it was stated that cases are expected to be seen again in the summer of 2025, in line with the data from previous years, and suggestions for the protection of citizens were shared.

While a total of 2,088 cases have been detected in the country in the last 15 years, 1,471 of them had central nervous system symptoms and 292 people lost their lives.
