Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu, in his post on his social media account, noted the following:

"It has been exactly one year. In these 365 days, under the leadership of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we have implemented the 'Protecting, Developing and Producing Health Model', with which we will take firm steps towards our vision of a Healthy Turkey Century. We have signed a series of radical changes for a stronger future for our health system. We will dream much further with our great health family and continue to work with determination for our goal of 'Türkiye as a Leader in Global Health'."

On the other hand, in the statement made by the Ministry of Health, new practices implemented in the field of health were included after Minister Memişoğlu took office on July 2, 2024.

Accordingly, Memişoğlu, who made his first visit to Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the February 6 earthquakes, after taking over the office, visited 49 provinces within a year.

As of July 2024, the construction of a total of 49 healthcare facilities, including 23 hospitals, 6 Oral and Dental Health Centers and 20 other healthcare facilities, has been completed.

18 hospitals were built in the earthquake zone. In this context, emergency hospitals were opened in Defne, İskenderun, Antakya, Payas, Erzin, Altınözü, Oğuzeli, Nurdağı, Türkoğlu, Nurhak, Kahramanmaraş and Çelikhan.

In the last year, 11 new Healthy Life Centers and 158 Family Health Centers were put into service. In this context, primary health care services are provided with a total of 290 Healthy Life Centers and 8,314 Family Health Centers throughout Turkey.

The number of physicians increased by 7 percent, reaching 117,166. In addition, 19 specialized health service centers became operational.

Remote health report service has begun to be provided for bedridden patients who have been diagnosed and are under observation.

The "Give Way to Life with the Zipper System" campaign was launched, and priority was given to ambulances in traffic.

Thanks to the action plan implemented to promote normal birth, a 2.67 percent decrease was achieved in the primary cesarean rate and a 3.1 percent decrease in the total cesarean rate.

The "Motherhood Journey" mobile application provided guidance to expectant mothers from pregnancy to breastfeeding. Education and consultancy services were provided to 1 million 282 thousand 505 pregnant women. The number of Mother-Friendly Hospitals increased to 174.

With the "Healthy Child, Healthy Future" program, 65,559 students were reached in 116 events organized in 81 provinces. With the Health Ambassador model, children were enabled to share what they learned.

30 thousand people attended Healthy Life Academy (SAHA) trainings. In a total of 17 million 970 thousand 411 applications made to Healthy Life Centers, services such as nutrition, psychological support, smoking cessation and cancer screening were offered.

In 2024, approximately 450 million family physician applications were made. 5.5 million people benefited from mobile health services. Family physicians performed more than 56 million chronic disease screenings, 5.6 million people were diagnosed early. The number of people receiving nutritional counseling reached 445 thousand.

The height and weight of 6.5 million people were measured with the "Learn Your Ideal Weight, Live Healthy" campaign.

The six-component combination vaccine application was started in Türkiye on April 14, 2025. TDAB vaccine started to be administered to pregnant women as of April 2, 2025.

1 million 368 thousand HPV-DNA screenings were performed. 900 thousand babies and 570 thousand 686 people were screened for SMA before marriage. 10 million 200 thousand people were screened for cancer, 196 thousand 800 suspected cases were referred to diagnostic centers.

With the teleradiology system, MR images are being reported remotely in 81 provinces. The "e-Pulse" system has been updated and made user-friendly. Mammography scans performed at KETEMs have begun to be analyzed with artificial intelligence. 1 million mammograms have been examined with this method.

A domestic heart-lung machine was produced by TÜSEB. Clinical studies of the device have been initiated.

206 hospitals in 19 provinces were inspected. The digital inspection process was initiated in 81 provinces with the REDES system. The quality assessment of 2,500 health institutions was carried out.

The number of people waiting for an appointment through MHRS decreased by 80 percent. Same-day or same-week appointments were given in all branches in 73 provinces.

"Health tourism revenues exceeded 3 billion dollars"

Between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, 500 drugs were licensed. Thanks to these drugs, access was facilitated and 2.5 billion liras of public savings were achieved. A fine of 95 million liras was imposed on misleading advertisements with health claims.

The number of people registered with a family doctor was determined as 3,500. It is aimed to reduce this number to 2,500 by 2028.

Acupuncture and phytotherapy applications were initiated.

20 scientific commissions were established to ensure that the procedures of private hospitals comply with medical requirements. Turkey was elected as a member of the WHO European Standing Committee.

Health tourism revenues exceeded 3 billion dollars.

With the work carried out through the MHRS system, patients over the age of 80 and bedridden can renew their reports from home. The way has been opened for private health reports to be obtained from family health centers at a low cost.

The bill submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly envisages comprehensive changes in the healthcare system in areas such as organ donation, medical devices, drug supply, misleading advertisements and health information systems.
