Expert warns: Bloating and indigestion may be a sign of serious illnesses

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veysel Ersan pointed out that approaches such as 'I have stomach problems, gas, gallstones but I'm managing' can actually lead to serious problems over time.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersan said, "Many diseases such as fatty liver, gallstones, bile duct obstructions, and even liver tumors initially present with mild symptoms. Patients usually waste time thinking that these complaints are temporary. However, a gallstone diagnosed at an early stage can be resolved with a simple surgery, but if it is delayed, it can lead to serious consequences such as inflammation, pancreatitis, or liver failure. The liver is one of the most resistant but also the quietest organs of the body. The liver continues to function for a long time without showing the disease. However, after a certain point, the damage becomes irreversible. Therefore, early diagnosis of liver diseases such as fatty liver, hepatitis, and tumors is of great importance. Sometimes, even a blood test can be life-saving."
'EVEN A SIMPLE ULTRASOUND CAN SAVE A LIFE'
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersan stated that people with symptoms such as pain in the upper right abdomen, nausea after eating, chronic indigestion, sudden weight loss, and yellowing of the skin should see a doctor without wasting time, and said , "Many people live with these symptoms for years and become accustomed to the situation. However, with just a simple ultrasound or blood test, we can detect a serious problem in the liver and biliary system early. This increases the success of the treatment many times over. Liver and gallbladder diseases are diseases that can be treated if caught early, but can be life-threatening if caught late. Even if the symptoms are mild, take them seriously. Do not postpone your check-ups."
