The current account showed a surplus of $5.5 billion

Türkiye's current account had a surplus of $5.455 billion in August, and the current account excluding gold and energy had a surplus of $10.05 billion.
According to the balance of payments data announced by the Central Bank (CBRT), the current account had a surplus in August 2025.
During this period, the foreign trade deficit defined by the balance of payments was 2 billion 806 million dollars.
In August, the current account deficit was approximately $18.3 billion, while the foreign trade balance, defined as the balance of payments, had a deficit of $62.6 billion.
This month, there was also a net inflow of $986 million from direct investments and a net outflow of $662 million from portfolio investments.
The Central Bank's foreign exchange reserves also increased by $1.2 billion.
