Special type of apricot was negatively affected by hail

Sultanhisar Mayor Osman Yıldırımkaya stated that the ''magador'' apricots in the district were negatively affected by the hail that fell recently, and said, "We were expecting a harvest of around 25 tons of apricots, but around 15 tons of product was lost after the hail." Yıldırımkaya stated that Sultanhisar is the only district that does polyculture farming, and that many fruits and vegetables can be grown in the district. Yıldırımkaya noted that they are very victimized:

''We produce everything in our region except tea. We are constantly trying to renew ourselves. Especially for the last thirty years, strawberry production has been carried out in closed areas. We have an annual strawberry production of approximately twenty thousand tons. This year, we have focused especially on apricots. Fifteen days ago, it rained and hailed one evening. We have a garden of approximately twenty decares. We have approximately one thousand three hundred and fifty trees in it. Unfortunately, all of these trees were affected by the hail. We were expecting approximately twenty-five tons of product. Currently, approximately fifteen tons of them have unfortunately been damaged by the hail. We do not know whether there will be around ten tons of good apricots. We have really suffered a lot.''
