Pensioners reacted to the raise: Pensioners should not eat everything!

Pensioners in Kadirli district of Osmaniye reacted to the lowest pension being increased to 16,881 lira. One pensioner said, "The salary increase is not even enough. It should have exceeded the minimum wage at once. I will grit my teeth, what else will I do?", while another pensioner said, "We went to the markets and they immediately increased the prices. We can't afford anything. It's not enough, money has no value right now."

Pensioners in Kadirli district of Osmaniye reacted to the increase in the lowest pension to 16,881 lira and the rate of increase in their salaries. Pensioners expressed their reactions as follows:

"The salary increase is not even enough. It should have exceeded the minimum wage at once. I will grit my teeth, what else will I do? Where else are you going to get it from when there is nothing?"

"Under these conditions, it is not the equivalent of inflation. Even though they say we are not crushing inflation, the market inflation, the market inflation is very high. In other words, it is not enough. There is a big difference between those who work and those who do not. We are also people who have worked for 35 years. I think it would be beneficial to at least establish a balance."

HARSH REACTION FROM RETIREES

We went to the markets saying our salary is 16 thousand 881 liras and they immediately increased the prices. We can't afford anything. It's not enough, money has no value right now. We can't buy what we want, if I don't get it this month, I call next month and get it gradually, step by step. Because we can't afford it, when you buy it all at once, there is no money left in the pocket. The pocket eats up the money. We can't afford to pay for ourselves as retirees, especially if you are a tenant, repent."

"I am retired and I earn 16,800 liras as a salary and I work as a milkman in the market. Even though I give milk for 100 liras, the citizens say 'this milk is expensive' and 'can't it be a little more affordable'. They try to bargain but the prices of the straw and feed we buy increase every month or every two months. We bought the straw we bought for 2 liras for 5 liras this year, a ton is 5 thousand liras. A bag of feed for livestock has become 700 liras. We will either quit this job or increase it, but we can't. I do extra work and do animal husbandry, but now we are struggling to the last thing. We will either quit or increase it, but the citizens are always against it. What can 16,800 liras do? Think about it, a bag of feed is 700 liras."
