Following the occurrence of 3 earthquakes with a magnitude greater than 4 in the Gemlik district of Bursa in the last two days, the warning made by seismologist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür for Gemlik has come to the fore again.

Seismologist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür had warned about Gemlik in a television program he attended 2 years ago and emphasized that the district needed to be moved urgently.

Görür said the following at that time:

They decided to move Gemlik a few years ago but then they gave up because of political reasons. Gemlik must definitely be moved. Gemlik, Geyve, İznik sit right on the Southern Fault of the North Anatolian Fault and the place where it sits is full of sea sand. There is no chance of survival.
