Bad news came to Konya Şeker, which has been going through difficult times, from the Competition Board.

TAKING ACTIONS THAT ANTICIPATED COMPETITION

According to the information in the independent audit report published on the official website of the institution; It was stated that the Competition Board initiated an investigation into Panek and the meat and milk integrated facility Panagro. The report included the following statements: “An investigation was initiated by the Competition Board into Panek and Panagro, subsidiaries of the Group, on February 18, 2025. In accordance with the decisions of the Competition Board dated February 13, 2025 and numbered 25-06/143 – M, it was decided to conduct a preliminary investigation pursuant to Article 40 of the same Law regarding “the allegation that undertakings operating in the raw milk purchase, milk feed sales and milk and dairy product production and sales markets and the Packaged Milk and Dairy Products Industrialists Association violated Article 4 of the Law No. 4054 on the Protection of Competition (Law No. 4054) by engaging in actions that restrict competition such as horizontal price determination, market sharing and exchange of sensitive competition information.”

It was revealed that Konya Şeker purchased milk below the reference price determined by USK, and did not pay for the milk on time, and the producer reacted to the situation.

DEBT INCREASED

The debt of Konya Şeker, Türkiye's largest farmer organization, which also includes Torku, has quadrupled in 4 years. The institution's debt, which was 17 billion lira in 2021, reached 67 billion 835 million 516 thousand lira in 2025. It was determined that the institution has a short-term debt of 32 billion 766 million 111 thousand lira and a long-term debt of 35 billion 69 million 405 thousand lira. It was learned that the company has a lien on the loans and shares of the thermal power plant it owns.
